Family Fun at Greenbluff

You can feel it in the air. That cool, crisp shift. You can smell the difference in the morning as you head out the door to work. The leaves are beginning to turn and instead of warm air on the wind a soft cool breeze whispers in the branches. Fall has arrived in Spokane. And for many, that means heading up to Greenbluff for a day of family fun.

Spokane’s very own local farms host a harvest festival for most of the fall. There’s lots to enjoy at Greenbluff during harvest season: pick pumpkins, sip fresh pressed apple cider, explore the corn maze, sample the famous pumpkin donuts, and much more.

Founded in 1902, the Greenbluff Grower’s Association in the Mead/Orchard Prairie area was initially formed to protect Strawberry farms from outside competition. Today, the Greenbluff Grower’s, a group of family farms and food stands, help local farms with agricultural tourism.

Family fun at Greeenbluff - U-pick fruit

Greenbluff offers a great opportunity to get out of the city an pick your own fruit or pumpkins. Availability changes seasonally, but September and October are best for apples and pumpkins.

Pumpkins are especially popular in October as Halloween approaches. Families can enjoy a horse-drawn hay ride out to the pumpkin fields, pick their own pumpkins, and catch a ride back to the sales booth where the pumpkins are weighed and sold based on weight. The pumpkins come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
