For the past 243 years, American’s from sea to sea have celebrated Independence day with zeal. A high point of the summer across the nations, celebrations usually include community festivities with fireworks, feasting, and fanfare. This year will be a different story on the 4th of July. Many cities have canceled celebrations entirely. However, Spokane has been working with Spokane County, Spokane Indians Baseball, and Spokane Public Schools to offer 4 drive-in fireworks shows at different locations around the city.

Here are the details for how you can see these 4th of July Drive in Fireworks Shows. The 4 shows will begin simultaneously at 10:00 pm on the 4th and will run approximately 6 minutes. Parking at the different locations will open at 9:00 pm. Attendants are asked to park their cars with one space in between cars. Some people may be able to watch from their homes if they live close by.

The 4 locations are Ferris High School on the South Hill, the Dwight Merkel Sports Complex in NW Spokane, Plante’s Ferry Sports Complex in the Spokane Valley, and Avista Stadium also in Spokane Valley. Between the locations, 1700 parking spaces will be available.

We hope you’ll get a chance to visit one of these fireworks shows with your family this weekend. Happy 4th of July!
Despite our circumstances as of late, we are still proud to live in the land of the free and the home of the brave. Our Flag is still there!
Oh, say can you see by the dawn’s early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight
O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air
Gave proof thru the night that our flag was still thereOh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
